Keith Butler, was originally said to have left the Steelers to become the Colts new defensive coordinator. It was then reported that he was not leaving but instead interviewing this Tuesday and his status was still up in the air.
The Steelers have not confirmed it yet but it is reported that after meeting with Art Rooney II today, he will return to the Steelers as their linebacker coach in 2012.
Most likely the Steelers offered him a hefty contract, since his was set to expire on February 15th and they may have clarified his future. Butler has been LeBeau's successor at defensive coordinator since 2009; a roll he will assume once the 74 year old Hall of Famer decides to hang up his headset.
